Melissa is a lifelong resident of the greater Philadelphia area and a respected professional whose career reflects dedication, growth, and a deep commitment to her community. Raised in the region she continues to call home, Melissa built a strong educational and professional foundation that has guided her success in the accounting and tax profession.

She earned her undergraduate degree in Business Management before furthering her education at Widener University, where she obtained her law degree. This combination of business and legal expertise has proven invaluable throughout her career, allowing her to navigate complex tax environments with confidence and insight.

Melissa spent 25 years with Morris J. Cohen & Co., P.C. (MJC), where her career progression is a testament to her work ethic and leadership. Beginning as a tax administrator, she steadily advanced through the organization, ultimately serving as Tax Director. During her tenure, she developed expertise, mentored colleagues, and played a key role in delivering high-quality service to clients across a wide range of industries.

In 2024, Melissa became part of McKonly & Asbury (M&A) when Morris J. Cohen & Co., P.C. joined the firm in a strategic merger that expanded M&A’s geographic footprint into the Philadelphia market. Her leadership, experience, and client-focused approach quickly distinguished her within the organization, and she was promoted to partner just one year after the merger—an achievement that reflects both her professional excellence and her ability to build strong relationships.

Despite her demanding career, Melissa has remained deeply rooted in the Philadelphia area. She lives locally with her husband, Christopher, their three children, and an ever-growing menagerie of animals. A passionate family-oriented individual, she is also an enthusiastic Eagles fan and a devoted caretaker to her cats, birds, lizard, and turtle—proof that her energy and compassion extend well beyond the workplace.

When she’s not working, Melissa enjoys spending time at the beach in Ocean City during the summer months and visiting Atlantic City in the winter. These seasonal traditions provide a chance to relax, recharge, and enjoy the coastal communities she loves.
